Life advice that I would give my younger self

Recently someone I follow on instagram asked a question in their stories. A question that I've seen a lot of times before. "What is one life advice you would give your younger self?"

I never really had a good answer for this question before. But this time, I did. 

An advice I would give to my younger self - 

No matter what you do and how good you are there will be people who will not like you and will judge you.

I used to be a people pleaser, desperate to make people like me. Though my inner personality craved to be straight-forward and honest, I did and said things to please other people, to get external validation and finally tried way too hard to MAKE people like me. 

Only at a later stage out of experience did I understand, no matter what I do, there will be people who won't like me, don't want to be friends with me or just plainly ignore me. 

Lesson learnt - Don't try too hard and burn yourself as to why someone doesn't like you or why you are being judged unfairly. You can't make everybody happy all the time. SO...
